Dirt-lovers, I'm looking to do a few rounds of the midland XC Series - June will be the first. But I'm a bit confused about which category to go for - it looks like I can ride the vets, open or sport (or even 'fun'!). Any advice gratefully received...

Cheers

John

it probably depends how long you want to race for, as i think the number of laps might vary by 1. probably wont make much difference, unless you are hooping to win...if so avoid the vets at all costs, as they guys at the front are VERY quick. I will probably race one or two rounds

Thanks Chris. I'll go for Vets and get a kicking!

I'll do Round 3 at Gainsborough and probably Round 4 at Eckington (although that's only a few days after the European cross duathlon champs and so might be a bad idea...).

Any other local-ish MTB action one should be aware of?

John

there is a Friday night summer series, all around 75 mins drive away from WB, which we might do a few of. Also me and Helen are doing mountain mayhem as a pair in June, so are doing a few long weekend rides....you'd be more than welcome to join us. Helen also doing some of Yorksire summer CX league...there may also be some lincs league summer cross...just haven't found them yet (although my dad was showing me pictures yesterday!!)

Thanks Chris. I might be up for some Friday night racing - have you got any details / website link!

And definitely up for some long weekend rides. Let me know when you are riding and I'll join you if I can.

Cheers

John

Thanks Ricky. I'm going to try and get to a few of those.

Big congrats to James for winning the round 1 U23 race on Friday!
