Don't worry, not for me!

I am looking at converting one of Poppy's bikes to be a TT bike, i.e., replace the current handlebars and shifters with integrated handlebars and funky shifters on the end. I have no idea where to start with this (google not really helpful). Can anyone advise on what I need to be able to do this and what set up would be best? Thanks!

Obviously you'll need new bars, shifters and brake levers. Second hand is a good bet - there are a lot of TT/Triathlon groups on facebook + ebay. You might find some members have some kit that they want to shift. Think all of mine has sold though.

Less obvious is that you'll probably need new inner and outer cables as the distance from the front end will probably be different. You might be lucky and it is shorter, but most likely not.

Planet X did use to have some cheap brake levers, not sure I can see them now.

You might want to try separate base bars and clip ons to start with as they sometimes have more adjustment than fully integrated, and potentially cheaper.

Shifters generally have to match the rest of the running gear i.e. shimano 11spd with shimano 11 speed, pretty obvious I know.

Thanks Stewart. I’ll take a look and also weigh up if it’s worth the extra cost for a small number of races!
